Here is another letter from a person who is very grateful for your work, and the publication of your book, Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. I expect that you will have hundreds, if not thousands, of similar letters on your files by now, but I feel compelled to write to you and express my thanks for giving me the information I needed to allow me to take my life back again, now that my blood sugar levels have become normalised.

Mine must be a story you will have heard again and again, a Type 2 diabetic, struggling with living, with blood sugar levels all over the place, fasted levels of 8 to 14 (144 to 252), medication levels approaching those considered to be maximum dosages, and enormous frustration at being unable to control the beast.

Frankly, I didn't believe your solution possible on first reading. After the second reading, I decided the only way to find out was to try for myself. Within three days I was experiencing BG's approaching normal, and I had to cut out medication or risk hypos. Within the first week my medication level was reduced to ZERO and BG's sitting comfortably in the 5 to 6 (90 to 108) region. I am now in Week 15 of my trials, and am still recording events daily as per the Glucograf II data sheets, and have not taken any medication since. Even on a two-week overseas holiday I was able to maintain near normal BG profile, eating in hotels and restaurants, a major achievement.

I will be visiting my local GP within a week or two and will present to him the renewed patient, with glycosylated hemoglobin levels at Week 11 or 5.7 (103), previously last measured at 8.8 (158), typical BG profile throughout the day 5.0 to 5.8 (90 to 105), and a weight decrease of around 15 kilograms (33 pounds), currently. I know his comment will be similar to "Why did it take you so long? 11 years." My answer will be I didn't have the right information until recently, and then I will discuss your book with him, if he is interested.

I have several friends who are also diabetics and who are following your programmes, having seen my results and enthusiasm. Two hosptial Diabetic Clinics are beginning to take notice and want a copy of our results. There is a glimmer of hope that the word will get out and save so many people the misery of suffering diabetes complications.

I would be happy to send on to you, Dr. Bernstein, a copy of my results if they are of any interest to you, but I quite understand that you have heard it all before, and therefore the duplication of results not needed in your files. If you want them, just let me know.
